Energy Efficient Induction High Bay Lighting for Hockey and Other Sports Facilities

Most hockey arenas have 1000 watt high bay metal halide fixtures installed and there are a number of common issues associated with this technology.  The light (lumens) depreciates rapidly so light levels, although adequate in the beginning, becomes dim and unacceptable and the light produced is rather yellow in color. Lamps and ballasts need frequent changes, an expensive task which requires renting bucket lifts and hiring electricians. Finally, these fixtures are not considered energy efficient, lamp and ballast consumes an incredible 1150 watts of electricity to produce light.
